Ivana Kvassay focuses on individual memory and manipulation not only with a model but also with the format of the work itself, already when stretching a canvas over a frame. By customizing canvas to a certain abnormal model, she enhances a feeling of creasing or hanging, which is necessary for her. She uses painting made by air brush technique as a recorder for materialization of important moments from childhood with the aim to assemble a coherent story from memory fragments. With a moment of illusion, she is trying to draw the viewer into the space of painting, that offers a game of shapes, shadows, refractions and reflections. By analyzing her view as a painter and vision as such, in her realistic manuscript, she admits working with a photographic material, that comes from her private archive, as with a model.
