Diela Jána Bátoreka sú o spomienkach na domov, na kysucké sídliska prerastené lesmi a betónom, o fascinácii prírodou, ľudským telom, postmodernou, brutalizmom a všetkým divným. Sú ale aj o jeho démonoch, strachu a šialenstve. V posledných dielach sa divák stretáva s jeho alter egami z detstva ktoré vkladá do spomienok na rôzne reálne (aj surreálne) situácie a prostredia. Vytvára nejaky divný mix surovej reality a fantastických, až snových predstáv. Skoro všetko je posiate tŕním, bodlinami, ako odkaz na subkultúry, ktoré sú mu dnes blízke. Postavy, zvieratá, rastliny – všetko je svalnaté, ako superhrdinovia z detstva. Dojem 90-tych rokov sa snaží ešte viac zvýrazniť svojskou imitáciou prvých 3D hier a vektorovej grafiky.

Ján Bátorek’s work is about memories of home, of Kysuce neighbourhoods overgrown with forests and concrete, about fascination with nature, the human body, postmodernism, brutalism and everything strange. But they are also about his demons, fear and madness. In his latest works, the viewer meets his alter egos from childhood, which he inserts into memories of various real (and surreal) situations and environments. He creates some kind of a strange mix of raw reality and fantastical, even dreamlike imaginary ideas. Almost everything is covered with thorns and prickles, as a reference to subcultures that are close to him today. Characters, animals, plants – everything is muscular, like superheroes from childhood. He tries to emphasize the impression of the 90s even more with his own imitation of the first 3D games and vector graphics.
