V sobotu 24. februára od 14:00 do 16:00 vás radi privítame na komentovanej prehliadke výstavy “Stories of Leipzig”. PETER CVIK, autor, vám porozpráva o kontexte, v akom vystavené maľby vznikali, čo podnietilo ich vznik a ako prebiehala ich tvorba.
On Saturday 24th of February from 14:00 to 16:00 we would be pleased to welcome you at the critic discussion of the Exhibition “Stories of Leipzig”. PETER CVIK, the author will tell you more about the context in which the paintings were created, what was the main motivation and how the realization of the art work took place.

Pohľad na stmievajúcu sa oblohu,
jazda temným lesom v tme,
parkovisko pre bicykle,
alebo prechádzky po ruinách v meste…
Maľba/objekty z medzinárodnej rezidencie Piloten Keuche v Lipsku v sebe nesú mix banálnych situácií v krajine, ktoré ho počas pobytu v tomto nemeckom meste stretli. Táto séria je na Slovensku predstavená po prvý krát.
Na záznam videného autor nepoužíva fotky, ale iba jeho vizuálnu pamäť. Celá séria sa nesie v duchu prehodnocovania klasickej maľby ako závesného vrstveného objektu, kedy autor posudzuje súčasnú maľbu ako výrazový prostriedok, nie ako zobrazovanciu metaforu. V obrazoch sa objavujú mapy z obdobia socializmu. Autor však nehľadá v použití týchto máp hlbší konceptuálny zmysel. Využíva ich vizuálny charakter, ktorý je autentický pre danú dobu a tak aj jednoducho rozpoznateľný ako symbol. Zaujíma ho tiež vzťah medzi topografickým znázornením, ktoré pri zavesení vytvára krajinu v inom rozmere. Kolážovým spracovaním vás autor chce dostať priamo doprostred obrazu. Nie je preňho dôležité obrazom prerozprávať oznamovaciu vetu, skôr ju nechať s troma bodkami, aby si každý divák dotvoril príbeh o miestach sám.

ride through the dark woods,
parking for bikes,
or walk through ruins in the city…
Painting/objects from the international residence Piloten Keuche in Leipzig carry a mix of banal situations in the country that met him during his stay in this German city. This series are exhibited in Slovakia for the first time.
The recorded author does not use photos, but only his visual memory. The whole series is in the spirit of re-evaluating classical painting as a hanging layered object where the author assesses contemporary painting as an expression device, not as a metaphor display. Images of the socialist era appear in the paintings. However, the author does not seek a deeper conceptual meaning in the use of these maps. It uses their visual character, which is authentic for a given time and thus easily recognizable as a symbol. It also attracts the relationship between the topographic representation, which creates a different dimension in the hanging. By collage processing the author wants to get you right in the middle of the picture. For the author is not important to tell a notification sentence, rather to leave it with three dots with intention to make it each viewer complete the story of the places themselves.
