Na aktuálnej výstave Monika Pascoe Mikyšková predstavuje najnovšie práce zo série Botanika. Autorka expanduje z plochy papiera do priestoru prostredníctvom plastických reliéfov a drobných objektov. Keramické plastiky elementárneho tvaru v zelenej, červenej a čiernej farbe symbolizujú univerzálne prírodné procesy – zrod, rast a zánik.
Vizuálne úvahy nad témou kolobehu života dopĺňajú betónové reliéfy pripomínajúce skameneliny, ktoré sú alúziou na oblasť geológie.
Ústredným dielom je veľkorozmerná kresba znázorňujúca prostredie lesa bez zásahu ľudskej činnosti. Les, ponechaný sám na seba, sa organicky rozvíja do všetkých smerov; odumreté organizmy sa stávajú živnou matériou pre rast nových rastlín a húb. Život a smrť sa prelínajú v nekončiacom procese, kde jedinou konštantou je zmena. Tento paradox môže byť pre človeka zdrojom závratu, alebo útechy. Historický žáner krajinomaľby reprezentuje potlačenú hrôzu z chaosu a snahu si prírodu podmaniť. Monika Pascoe Mikyšková, naopak, rešpektuje divokosť prírody, ktorá nie je povinná človeku slúžiť. Prirodzenosť je tu oslavovaná ako čosi cenné a v dnešnej dobe ohrozené sebeckou ľudskou činnosťou.
At the current exhibition, Monika Pascoe Mikyšková presents the latest artworks from the Botany series. The author expands from the paper area into the space via plastic reliefs and tiny objects. Ceramic plastic arts of elementary shape in green, red and black colour symbolize universal natural processes – creation, growth and death.
Visual reflections on the cycle of life are complemented by concrete reliefs resembling fossils, that are an allusion to the field of geology.
The central artwork is a large-format drawing depicting the forest ambient without an intervention of human activity. The forest, left to itself, is organically evolving into all directions; necrotic organisms are becoming a nutrient matter for the growth of new plants and fungi. Life and death are intersecting in an endless process where the only constant is a change. This paradox can be a source of vertigo or consolation for a man. The historical theme of landscape-painting represents the suppressed horror from the chaos and an effort to conquer nature. On the other hand, Monika Pascoe Mikyšková respects the wildness of nature, that is not obliged to serve a human. Here, naturalness is celebrated as something valuable and these days threatened by the selfish human activity.
